The bed was comfortable, and the water gets very hot, which I liked. The staff were friendly too. The room was reasonably clean, though not exactly clean: the bedding was clean, but the towels were stained and had to be replaced. A Band-Aid was stuck to the shower curtain and looked like it had been there a while. After my 15-hour workday, I had to go back downstairs for another towel because the one left for me was stained and felt like sandpaper. The water pressure is ridiculously strong. Turn the bathroom faucet all the way on and it sprays you, the counter, and the mirror. The room also looked badly in need of renovation, with marks on the walls, baseboards, and lighting, cracked and stained lampshades, and a big hole where the doorstop should be. Smoking rooms often seem to end up needing work and not being very clean, and this room had some of that feel. Housekeeping came in while I was out, which I hate. I told the desk, but there wasn't a DND sign for the door. The TV was old and had only about 20 channels. There isn't much in the area either.

We'd planned to stay September 09-11, but couldn't stand both nights. The non-smoking room had an overpowering musty smell that was literally hard to breathe through, though it wasn't cigarette smoke. There were bugs on the floor, like other reviews mentioned, and an empty alcohol bottle behind the cushioned chair. Part of the wall guard for the door handle was missing and someone had stuffed the gap with toilet paper. The TV kept layering static over the show. The bed, mini fridge/freezer, and bathroom were in better shape.

My family is from West Liberty, KY, and we come every year for the Sorghum Festival. It's a tiny town with small-town charm, and this has easily been our best stay at the Days Inn so far, even though the air conditioner was broken. The staff have always worked with our late check-ins and check-outs, and they'll bend over backwards to help. The room smelled of fresh paint when we walked in. The carpets and bathroom floor were clean, the sink was clean, and there were plenty of towels. The beds are VERY comfortable and the sheets crisp. If you're expecting the Ritz, you might be disappointed, but after some rougher stays over the years, this feels like a fresh start. I travel with my husband, grandmother, and our 5 & 3 year old.

The staff were amazing, sweet, kind, and helpful. That's the only reason I'm giving this place two stars. It badly needs renovation: there was stuff on the walls, ceilings, and lamps, while the carpet and rooms all looked dated. None of the street or building lights worked, so we were relying on reflections from nearby restaurants and businesses, which felt dangerous. There are no elevators, and the continental breakfast was terrible. I've stayed at other Days Inns, but this was by far the worst one. Hopefully they renovate soon.

I arrived at 11 pm and had to climb the stairs because this two-level hotel has no elevator. My Priceline.com booking was nonrefundable, and I'm not supposed to climb stairs for health reasons. The room was awful: the mattress springs kept stabbing my back, and the heat didn't warm it properly until about 3 that morning. The hallways were freezing and the carpets on the hotel floors were badly stained. The shower controls are reversed. Whenever you need something, you have to page someone at the desk using a cordless phone. I'd drive another 25 miles and pick a different hotel.
