Mainstay Suites Ocean City West

The kitchenette was a favorite, especially since it even had a dishwasher, and our room was wonderful. Breakfast was great, with sugar-free syrup as a bonus. The hallways smelled like fresh laundry, and the hotel was a great deal for our Oceans Calling Festival trip. We arrived at 1pm and got checked in early, even though check-in was at 4pm. The bathroom door kept sliding off its track and was so heavy to move that my back was sore after our three-day stay. The bathroom breaker also tripped when we used the hairdryer, but that was easy to fix because the breaker box was in the room.

The location made it easy to get to diners, restaurants, and stores, and the boardwalk was only a five-minute drive away. I had a large, clean suite on the mainstays side, with pots and utensils in the kitchen. The bed was fairly comfortable and my two-day stay went smoothly. I didn't use the pool; the gym and breakfast were okay, nothing special, but good enough. I enjoyed the stay and would recommend it.

Traveling with young children, I really appreciated how spacious the rooms were. The pool was a nice extra, and the lobby kitchen, especially its microwave, came in handy for the kids. I also liked having a coffee area. The front desk staff were satisfactory and handled our questions efficiently. It would be more convenient if the rooms had working microwaves, since using the common one meant going down to the lobby. We had a pleasant stay and appreciated the comfort and amenities.

The pool was cute and okay, but I wouldn't come back. The stay cost too much for what we got. The breakfast was horrible: the eggs tasted like 🤮, fruit was never available when we arrived, and the waffle line cut through the middle of the room, making it hard to move around. They regularly closed early and stopped putting food out. Our microwave also kept stopping and starting, and no one even said they were sorry. The sliding bathroom door was so heavy we had to grunt to open and close it. Our room was beside an exit door that people used freely, and guests ignored the two No Smoking Signs there. Dogs weren't allowed in the elevators.
