Courtyard by Marriott West Palm Beach

I usually give five stars, but I won’t be back to this Marriott next to the strip club. The place needs upkeep. The carpet is worn, and it doesn’t belong in a bathroom where people leave dirty towels under the sink. The mattress was lumpy and sagged, the first floor hallways and tables were dirty, and there wasn’t even a picture on the bedroom walls. I didn’t sleep well and the stay wasn’t comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, though, and we appreciate the good customer service. That’s why I left three stars.

The staff were the strongest part of my three night stay at Courtyard West Palm Beach Marriott. Everyone I met was welcoming and professional. A special mention to the man covering both the bar and kitchen on the evening of the 6th, he was attentive, personable, and clearly working hard. The lobby, bistro, and seating areas were comfortable, and I enjoyed unwinding by the fire pit in the central courtyard. The property is nice and well maintained. There were some real problems, though. The elevator was out on my first night, so I had to carry my bags up three flights after traveling. For a hotel in this price range, that’s not ideal. My room was clean but dated, and the balcony was so narrow it was barely wider than my body. The shower was tiny too, my shoulders touched both walls even though I’m fairly slim. On the last morning, I found the fitted sheet had come off while I slept, exposing a heavily stained mattress. I’m a restless sleeper, but that doesn’t make this acceptable. Since it was my final morning, I couldn’t ask to change rooms. A stained mattress shouldn’t be in service, and it needs steam cleaning or replacement.

The heated pool was a nice part of the stay. The rest was frustrating: the bar was closed on a Friday night, breakfast staff were rude and shut things down early, and the outside gas for the table fire was out. In the room, there were carpet stains, the toilet didn’t work, and the shower conditioner wouldn’t stay on the wall.

My sister and I stayed here in November 2025 and both woke up covered in bites. When I finally got a chance to contact the hotel, John refused to help. I contacted corporate, who said they’d arrange a third party inspection and send me the report. Later I got an email saying no bed bugs were found, but they never provided the report. I’ve tried contacting customer service again, and Andres said he wouldn’t help because I booked through Expedia. There was no refund or credit, and I still haven’t received the pest control report they promised. I don’t recommend this hotel.
