La Quinta Inn by Wyndham West Palm Beach - Florida Turnpike

I've stayed in plenty of hotels, and this was the worst room I've had. It was tiny, looked decades out of date, and didn't even have a chair, so I had to sit on the bed. There was no hot water at the sink, and the toilet wouldn't flush unless I worked the tank by hand. I wouldn't stay here again at any price.

I still haven't received my refund, and had to follow up again after they told booking.com I was a no-show. On the day of my stay, my room was canceled without an explanation or any concern for what that meant for me. Gabriel had told me my reservation for that night was confirmed, though I couldn't extend the stay. At the desk, they acted as if he didn't work there and suggested I'd called somewhere else, even though I dialed the number beside me and their phone rang. When the desk finally reached him, he denied saying I still had a room and kept defending himself with lies about our conversation. The staff offered no help or explanation. All I got was, “We called and refunded your money,” with no apology, empathy, or effort to fix things. I've never seen worse-trained staff.

The pools are great, the showers are nice, and I love having this place near home when friends visit. The rooms can feel cold, but you can adjust the temperature to warm them up. Our friends who come from far away usually stay here, and the prices are good, so I’m looking forward to coming back and recommending it. I do hope the parking goes better next time, though. When I visited my friend, we were there less than three hours, had a few drinks, watched the game, and left. He had booked the room for three people, and the website says parking is free, so I don't understand why they put a ticket on my car and threatened to tow it.

The front desk staff made the stay feel easy, they were genuinely kind and attentive. Breakfast was a good start to the morning, and La Quinta worked well for a quick, simple visit. I appreciated how friendly and professional the whole crew was. I'll be back, and they deserve a big thank you for making things go smoothly.
