30A Sunset Beach House - Villa Infinity

The elevator’s been broken for two days, and today will make day #3. We’re leaving today, and we aren’t on the first floor. On top of that, this is the second night I’ve been woken up around 11:30 pm by teenagers screaming blood-curdlingly in the back of the building as they try to get to the beach through the public access gate. Great vacation, I think NOT. Go somewhere else to rent or own.

We came for Spring Break and booked this condo so we could stay close to our daughter and her sorority friends while spending time together as a family. The visit was enjoyable, with entertainment on site. Shops and restaurants were within walking distance, and a trolley took us to the beach.

The complex is very nice, but the beach setup made for a terrible stay. Private homes on both sides have their own beach space, leaving just a small area for guests of villas at sunset beach. A company has been given 60% of that area for chair rentals, which must be booked ahead and are very expensive if you have more than two people. We visited the last week in July 2020, during a global pandemic, and too many people were squeezed into the limited beach space. A shuttle also brings guests from across the street, and the allocated area couldn’t fit everyone. For what these units cost to rent, we were very disappointed. We won’t be back.

The pool restroom was excellently maintained, but the small complex pool has no umbrellas, so there’s no shade. Seating is limited too, with two small bar-height tables, each with four chairs, and only 8-10 lounge chairs. The complex is nice, but each unit has parking for exactly two vehicles and there’s no street parking.
