Private Paradise on Front Beach Rd by Resort Collection

The location was great, right across from the beach, but our family vacation was a mess. Our household of 10 paid nearly $5,300 for a week and had no hot water anywhere in the unit the whole time. We told the rental company on check-in day. A manager came the next morning and tried resetting the tankless heater, which did nothing. The owner, who was local, sent a vendor later that day. The plumber recommended replacing the whole heater, but the owner didn’t want to spend that much and chose to guess at which part needed replacing. Waiting for the part dragged things out. I had to call and complain every day before they offered a move on day 4 at about 5:30 local time. We already had plans that evening, and moving all 10 people, our food, and belongings to a place 15 minutes away, then packing again less than 3 days later, was too much hassle. Some family members skipped swimming because they’d have to take a cold shower; others showered outside hoping the sun would warm them, or didn’t shower at all. They should have offered another place as soon as the first repair attempt failed. For a rental at this price, that was unacceptable. There were other problems, too. Algae was in the pool when we arrived, even though pool service had just been there before check-in. The water was too low for proper filtration, so it got dirty again after someone came to service it on day 3. On day one we also reported unsecured doors, with missing handle screws that let the handles come right off. The furniture had tears, and one mattress was just on the floor without a frame. You can’t turn the air conditioning below about 71, either, so enjoy the Florida heat. The facility management was absolutely poor, especially for nearly $5300 for the week. Southern vacation rentals thought $760 was enough compensation for all of this.
