Holiday Inn Express & Suites Pensacola West-Navy Base

My room was humid and had mold in it. The front desk staff were lazy. These hotels really need dehumidifiers.

It's about 3 miles from the Naval Station back gate, but the hallways seemed to have no air conditioning, or it was set to 80. Room 209's AC leaked onto the carpet and the room smelled mildewy. The bathroom sink was clogged. Also, this Holiday Inn doesn't offer the fresh cookies we've had at the other ones we've stayed in.

We made a last-minute stop to visit the Naval Air Museum. Check-in staff were fine, but the hotel is old, grungy, and doesn't feel up to the IHG brand. On the fourth floor, the top floor, there was no AC in the hallway. The room smelled musty, and the shower was stained with rust and had hard-water buildup on the head. The only elevator was slow, dirty, and rickety. I'd suggest people stay somewhere else until this place is renovated.

The young woman at the counter was kind and worked hard when the computers crashed at check-in, even calling someone for help, but they never got running. She seemed dedicated to a place that doesn't care. The property and rooms were worn, and when I found the shower drain clogged I had to move to another room. Then, around midnight, the fire alarms went off. Standing there at midnight, I was thinking, why me? Breakfast was fine. The employee's attitude and kindness were exceptional, but the property and its owner are a hard pass for me next time.
