Charlie, the adorable little dog, is part of a really welcoming crew. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and my room was clean and comfortable. The property is quiet and feels safe with the parking lot security gate. There are plenty of TV channels, plus lots of food places nearby and quick access to Old Sac or Downtown Sac.

The room was rundown, and the management was horrible. We got there at 5 am after driving all night and were allowed to check in, but had to check out at 11 am. They wouldn’t let a coworker come by for 10 minutes while we packed, saying absolutely no guests. The TV wouldn’t turn on, and the office didn’t know how to get it working. There were no towels, and the toilet was dirty and hadn’t been flushed.

Check-in was super friendly, and it’s pet friendly. For under $100, this is what a Budget Inn should be: affordable, almost cheap, no frills, and comfortable. The shower was acceptably clean, with clean towels and a decent bar of soap. There was also a microwave, mini fridge, and gated parking. It’s only 10 mins from UC Davis medical facility. If you’re coming to Sac.from out of town for an early morning medical appointment and you’re poor like me, this is your answer, sky ranch.

There are tons of motels around here, but if you’re traveling by bike, this is your place. The owner is very nice and attentive, and she has a really sweet dog who I’m sure co-manages the motel ;) The gate is locked to cars, but there’s an unlocked pedestrian entrance by the check-in window, so the place feels super safe and is easy to get into. This lil hotel was amazing for a bicycle tourist.

The owners are super nice, the bed was comfortable, and the place felt safe. It was exceptionally clean, and there were NO COCKROACHS!!!!! The dogs are super sweet too. If you need somewhere to rest your head for the night, this is it.
