Hampton Inn West Springfield

The breakfast room was spotless and the food was very good, and the desk person was kind, efficient, and helpful. I love this Hampton Inn and had an excellent experience. One suggestion: replace the closet with hooks and shelves, and add hooks near the room entrance too.

They’re updating the rooms, which are a good size. The staff are helpful, and there’s a lot within walking distance. Breakfast was the usual microwaved, prepackaged food.

I travel to this market for business 10 days a year. This was my first and last stay here. I wasn’t told the hotel was under construction, and the hallways were covered in plastic. My room was tiny, with little workspace, just a small wardrobe instead of a closet, and a tiny bathroom. At breakfast they’d run out of every kind of coffee, so I had to find the person in charge in the kitchen. He didn’t have a replacement carafe ready and said it would be a while because he had to brew more. I’ve never stayed at a hotel where they told me I’d have to wait for coffee.

Amherst hotels were full on move-in day, so we ended up here. The room was nice and quiet, and some attractions were nearby. Breakfast was the problem. The stations were crammed into a tiny room, so even toasting bread took up a quarter of the space. We asked for something without meat, though a large sign said they could accommodate dietary needs. The staff member was reluctant and insisted a frozen omelette would take 30 minutes. She did bring it eventually, but people can’t eat everything just because it’s on the menu. Other hotels we’ve stayed at had no trouble offering eggs, plant-based sausage, or potatoes.
