Yellowstone Lodge

Staff were friendly and helpful, parking was free, and breakfast was basic but adequate. The hotel is a little dated, but it’s in a great spot, two minutes by car from Yellowstone and a five-minute walk from the town centre. The WiFi was my main complaint. They advertise WiFi and TVs for Netflix, Disney, and other services, but during my two nights it kept dropping out. The smart TV didn’t work properly because of the connection. I told reception, and they said it was their most common complaint, that nearly everyone said the same thing, and that someone was coming. I had to go into town to get decent WiFi.

The rooms are warm, and the location is the only plus for me. You can hear corridor noise at night because the rooms aren’t well insulated. The jacuzzi is “temporarily” out of service, the pool is dirty, and the “brekafast” is a joke. The room is too small for a hotel this size, so good luck standing around with the morning crowd waiting for a table if you want to eat. There’s only one elevator, even though this place isn’t small, and there was no housekeeping. WiFi is sketchy. I don’t recommend it.

Our room was at the far end of the third floor, and the WiFi was poor there. The TV’s streaming channels were annoying to watch because of the connection. The jacuzzi was out of order and being fixed, though the hotel does have a pool. The breakfast area stays open around the clock for snacks and drinks. It’s an okay three-star hotel a few miles from the Yellowstone West entrance, and it’s somewhat pricey because of how close it is to the park. Our experience was average, maybe a little disappointing, but it could simply have been bad luck. The hotel’s overall experience seems fine.

Nice hotel and an average breakfast. The water pressure was good, and the drains weren’t clogged. I don’t know why so many hotels just leave clogged drains that way.
