Americas Best Value Inn Westmorland

At nearly $100 a night, I expected more. The morning breakfast was there, but nothing looked inviting. The room was pretty run down, with cracks in the fixtures and badly patched walls. The beds were decent, but the pillows were awful, and the air conditioning was louder than any hotel I've stayed in. It was 115 degrees outside, though, so we were glad to have it. There were bugs in the room. The signs say they're harmless and don't bite, but they're still there, and the only option was to ask staff to sweep them up at check-in and during our stay. We had no other choice for this one night, but we definitely wouldn't stay again. I booked on the hotel's website and was told at check-in there'd be a $10 convenience fee for booking online. It hadn't been mentioned during the reservation. I argued, and they eventually sorted it out as their mistake, but it was a hassle.

The front desk was really helpful, and the owners were very sweet. Breakfast was good too, with cereal and waffles for the kids, plus coffee you make yourself, toast, and yogurt. We enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub, and had a good stay from start to finish. Thanks again, I'll be back soon.

I really don't like hotels and would rather sleep in my car under a bridge, but this place was OK. It's being completely remodeled, so there's construction going on. That explains why I can understand some of the bad older reviews, since the outdated, worn-out parts are being renovated. The upstairs rooms have laminate flooring, so I'd get one of those. There's a desk, chair, TV, and hot water. The parking lot is huge, and there are restaurants next door. A room near the end of the building might be better too, since you can hear what's happening in the lobby, which is open to the center of the building.

Check-in was welcoming, and everything got sorted out efficiently. The room was clean. There wasn't a coffee machine in the room, though you could get coffee at reception. Breakfast was included, with a choice of Fruit Loops, bacon bits, hard-boiled eggs, toast, and coffee.
