Mizner Place at Weston Town Center, Fort Lauderdale

The location worked well, with shops within walking distance, plus a parking garage and security. The rooms were huge and the bed was comfortable, so I’d stay again. We did have a hiccup: one bathroom hadn’t been cleaned and had dirty towels on the floor. Staff came to clean it before we noticed, but they walked right in without knocking. That felt odd, especially since we’d checked in about an hour and a half after check-in time, so there should have been time to clean before we arrived.

The biggest concern was the door. On our last day, we realized it hadn’t been locking properly during the stay. The latch didn’t line up with the frame, and leaning on the door made it open. That’s a serious safety problem. The rest of the stay was frustrating too. Check-in was posted as 4:00 PM, but when we arrived at 4:05, the room wasn’t ready. No apology, explanation, or estimate was offered. I called 2.5 hours later and was told it still wasn’t ready, and we finally got in around 7:15, over three hours late. If we’d known, we could have planned the day differently. Staff didn’t apologize, explain the delay, offer the pool or bar, or try to improve things. They also flatly denied our request for a slightly later checkout to make up for the lost time. The whole interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. We’d come to Florida for some much-needed R&R after a cold northern winter, but this was extremely disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and even made sure our property was safely returned after we’d left the area. There’s a free shuttle to the shopping area, with restaurants, shops, and entertainment conveniently close by. The neighborhood is beautifully landscaped. Miami is about an hour away by car, and Ft. Lauderdale is closer.

Love staying here. The people are friendly, and the staff are always helpful and amazing. The accommodations are perfect for a great getaway. Highly recommend it.
