For $99 plus tax, the one-bedroom queen suite felt like a good deal for our family of three on a road trip. The location is handy for shops and restaurants, though in March many places close early or keep winter hours. We’d recommend it to someone visiting the area, but we like trying different places, so we’d probably stay somewhere else on another trip. We got a message that our room was ready at noon, even though we wouldn’t arrive until around 4 p.m., along with the door code. At check-in we found the main living room and bedroom lights weren’t working. A quick call brought a friendly, polite person over who fixed it right away. There’d been a power outage, and it had just tripped a breaker. Room 5 opens straight into a tiny, cute living room and kitchen. It had a microwave, fridge, sink, coffee machine, toaster, and a few other things. There was a small table for two by the window and a small couch that fit me, my wife, and our 12-year-old daughter. She slept on the pullout, which she found pretty uncomfortable. My wife and I also found the queen bed uncomfortable, though it was clean. The bathroom was spacious, with one sink and a stand-up shower. The walls are very thin, which might bother light sleepers. We usually play white noise on our phone, and people were generally quiet during the day, especially after 10 p.m.

The place was okay, and being close to the water is a plus, though the view isn’t impressive. Parking is awful, with just a few tiny spaces. At $230 a night, it feels at least $100 overpriced. The room looks and feels like a studio apartment. Having a Keurig and being able to make your own meals might suit some people, but there’s hardly any water pressure. They’re clearly still doing a lot of work, so maybe it’ll be nicer once it’s finished.

The docks right out front sometimes have welcoming seals, and there are great walks all around. Food is just around the corner. It’s cozy and warm, and nobody bothers you. When you need something, they’ll do everything they can to help.

The room was nice overall, though it seemed like they rushed putting the rooms together.

I stayed five nights at Dock Street inn. It was clean, quiet, and very nice, with a fantastic location. All the employees were helpful and kind. I’d definitely stay there again.
