Boston Motel

The room was comfortable, the price was reasonable, and the local residents were so friendly. The owners were very nice, too. It’s a no-frills motel, though, and you have to ask for clean bedding because it isn’t provided. There were ants in my room, and the rug was so filthy that my feet turned black after walking across it once. Outside, the grass wasn’t kept up, and there was garbage and broken glass everywhere. I was worried my service dog would cut his feet. The owners should spend some time making the grounds nicer. Aesthetics go a long way.

For such a cheap, last-minute option, you get what you pay for. I liked that they had both smoking and non-smoking rooms, which is a rare find these days, and there was a mini fridge and microwave. But there were no cable channels or any other channels in my room, and the beds were super uncomfortable. The staff were friendly when I checked in at night, but not so friendly at morning checkout.

A fire alarm went off at 2 am on my first night, though I doubt that happens regularly. The WiFi kept dropping every five minutes, so I couldn’t use it. Still, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and having a microwave and small refrigerator meant I didn’t have to eat out every night. It’s a great place if all you need is somewhere to sleep.

On my second stay, April 29, the room was nasty and had ants. The pet-friendly claim on the website seemed odd when I arrived and saw a sign in the window saying “no animals only.” I needed somewhere to stay with my dog, and I could barely sleep because of possible drug activity outside the door. It didn’t stop until around 3 or 4 am.
