Frank and Terri have made this place feel like a real home away from home, and over the years they’ve become good friends. There’s a warm welcome here, with a very Idaho feel to it. I first came to Whitebird Summit B&B in 2003 while searching for land nearby. I bought property eventually, though I didn’t start building until 2017. During those 14 years, I made several trips back and stayed here every time. Such a lovely place, highly recommend it.

Frank and Terri Schmitz have set a whole new bar for being salt of the earth. They’re kind, warm, engaging, and welcoming, even to people who might not deserve it. Anyone who can’t give this place five stars must be a spoiled, entitled jerk who’s never even run a lemonade stand!

The room was spotless, and the setting was beautiful and idyllic. I needed somewhere for just one night and was getting a little desperate, since everyone else in town was booked or unreasonable. Whitebird was so accommodating and hospitable. I’d gladly stay again someday. 🤞

The kids loved the chickens, goats, and other farm animals, and there was room for all of us to gather, chat in smaller groups, or have some time to ourselves. We had a family reunion at Whitebird Summit Lodge, 15 of us ranging in age from 3 to 73, and it was a once in a lifetime experience for everyone. The hosts were gracious without hovering. Terri made a fabulous breakfast and a first class dinner one night, and the little kids liked her so much they felt she was part of the family. Her husband told great stories, shared his local knowledge, and entertained the kids with the cutest little goat. Terri also helped coordinate our jet boat trip with Mountain river outfitters. I highly recommend Whitebird Summit lodge. I never give 5 stars, but they earned it.

The rural setting and country interior decor suited what I was expecting, and I had a wonderful time here. Our room was lovely, clean, and nice. Terri made us feel right at home, and Frank had wonderful stories to tell. Their horse riding guide Leia was excellent too.
