For $70, you could do a lot worse. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and being near restaurants and the train station made the location especially convenient. It's the sister property to Firebrand across the street, where you can leave luggage for the day if you're skiing and catch their shuttle. I'd suggest a top-floor room with two queen beds for a mountain view. It isn't the Ritz, but I was surprised by how decent it was.

The beds were comfortable, and I really enjoyed the large soaking tub. The water stayed warm for ages. Staff were courteous, the room was clean, and the location was great. The place is dated and needs some work, though renovations are due to start soon. It's adequate rather than luxurious. There's enough room to use the space better, and I'd have liked a dresser and a little table with two chairs for meals.

We wanted to be near the Amtrak station, and that worked out well. This was a distinctive little place, clean and comfortable, with a hot tub the kids enjoyed. There wasn't the usual breakfast or coffee bar, supposedly because of Covid, but that wasn't a big deal. The man at the desk was so nice, and brought me about six towels when I'd asked for two. It seems like it could be a really neat winter stay for the nearby ski resort.

The room was very basic, but cheap, and the view of the mountain was great. It's close to Whitefish ski area and downtown, and there's a simple bagel breakfast in the morning. You can also buy discounted lift tickets at the desk. A few hassles: the shower and sink drains were clogged, the furniture looked mismatched, outlets were scarce for charging phones, and parking was limited.

The beds were comfy, the baths were great, and the price suited me since I wasn't there to spend time in the room. The staff were great too. It needs a lot of renovation, but I heard it had just been bought, so I know upgrades may take time. I wasn't disappointed.
