We were here for our company Christmas party and had a great time. Dinner was good, and the Pop whip show was really cool. Everyone on staff was extremely friendly, especially Tim, who was hands down one of their best employees.

The location was beautiful, and the staff were friendly. We loved the horseback ride and hayride, with a delicious BBQ afterward. My husband enjoyed golfing, too, and the amenities were great.

Colonel and Jim were fantastic. I’d highly recommend archery and skeet shooting with them, and that’s the reason this review has any stars at all. The rest of our stay was very underwhelming, and we left a day early. There were kids running around everywhere and their parents seemed nowhere to be seen. I got bumped into several times and nearly knocked off my feet. The restaurant staff were slow and, especially at lunch, disrespectful. When we were checking the bill and asked about adding another margarita, one staff member demanded we “show her!” and insisted she would never have done that. She also said our rooms didn’t exist. Lunch and dinner were disappointing for what we paid. I’d look for a place to stay in cave creek for a better desert experience.

The new casitas and the pool are gorgeous. The fitness center needs attention, though. It has four treadmills and four recumbent bikes, but only one Peloton and one elliptical. The elliptical is so old it still has an iPod plug and is hard to start. The Peloton’s seat adjustment handle sticks out far enough to hit my left leg while pedaling. Replacing the machines seems like an easy fix, though the setup does tell you something about what guests prioritize.
