Armada By-the-Sea

I’d stayed here for more than eight years and had gotten friendly with the family who owns it. The rooms are clean, but one summer my father was facing a leg amputation because of diabetes, and I was overwhelmed. I packed the family and left a day early by mistake. At checkout, with everything already in the car, the owner pointed out that checkout was the next day. I explained what was going on and asked for a one-day credit for the following year, not a refund. The answer was a firm no. That surprised me, especially given how openly they share their faith, including the pamphlets in the office. I found another nice place in the Crest, where there are plenty.

We spent most evenings on the second-floor outdoor common area, eating together and playing cards. It made the place feel relaxed and cozy. The hotel is right by the sand, across from a park that has live music a couple nights a week, and they put out fresh coffee in the lobby each morning. The staff were so welcoming and seemed to really care that guests felt at home. The same family has run the hotel for over 50 years, and that pride shows in the details. A charming, comfortable stay with a personal touch. We can’t wait to come back.

The view from our room was fabulous, and we were very pleased with the room and grounds. We even happened to be there during a live music concert in the park across the street. This was our first stay at the Armada, but it won’t be the last. At checkout, my family and I faced a personal crisis, and nearly the whole staff stepped in to help us. Thank you to everyone at the Armada. We’ll see you again!

We stayed in a C-1 room and were happy with everything. It’s right on the beach, and there’s also a pool with grill access. The room had a living room, dining room, and full kitchen with what we needed to make a proper family meal. Everything was clean and well maintained, and the bed was extremely comfortable. My wife, who was 7.5 months pregnant, and I both slept great. We’ll definitely be back as soon as we can.
