Blue Diamond Motel

We booked for eight people, and have evidence that our booking was for eight, but when we arrived there was only room to sleep six. The room was absolutely filthy, with mattress stains that looked like dried blood. Bugs crawled on the sofa bed, and once opened all the way, it wouldn’t close. Pieces fell off with the slightest movement. The floor was disgusting, and the place reeked of cigarettes. We tried respectfully contacting management and said we’d stay despite the conditions if they gave us the extra beds. Instead we got one cot that was falling apart and smelled. The manager basically said it wasn’t his problem. We asked for a refund and said we’d stay elsewhere, but he refused and turned off his phone. We had to call the police to make a report. Only then did the owner say he’d refund us within 2-3 business days. A few days later, the owner was still refusing to return the money and telling booking.com that we’d stayed all weekend and broken his furniture. We have evidence we stayed at another location, but somehow this was blamed on us. Future guests should know the place is filthy and the owner was a complete jerk who wouldn’t help when we had an issue.

This was a horrible experience, and I wouldn’t go back. The rooms are run down and filthy, with a broken couch that couldn’t be used. The pool was disgusting and had no supervision. The staff were run down too, trashy. It didn’t feel like a family place, more like somewhere for partiers and drug addicts. On our last night we actually saw a drug deal. I felt uncomfortable and afraid for my children’s safety. Don’t stay here.

This was my second once-a-year visit, and the motel has been excellent each time. I had a really late check-in on this trip, and the employee was understanding and made adjustments so everything went smoothly. The suite was spacious and clean, with a full kitchen, clean beds, and working AC units. I can’t complain about anything. I’ll be back for year three!

It was a terrible stay all around. The sheets were dirty and stained, with a shoe print on one, and the pillows looked nasty and stained too. Good thing we brought our own. There were ants everywhere, and the toilet rocked. Parking was hard to find. My room wasn’t cleaned until the day before checkout, and the so-called maid always looked high.
