Bristol Plaza Resort Motel

The location away from the boardwalk suited us, and we could see the ocean from the room. The Wi-Fi was strong enough for me to work while my kid used her iPad. The front desk ladies were very nice and helpful, and the room was clean with no damp smell. It was a typical-sized WW motel room, recently updated, with what we needed for a longer stay. We stayed one night and had a good experience. The water was warm but not hot when I showered, though I think it was during the post-beach rush before dinner. In the morning it was nice and hot. The only other drawbacks were the small spaces for loading and unloading cars. It's a good, affordable place, and I'd stay again.

We had an enjoyable time and would come back, but we'd pick a different room. The front desk ladies were kind, and the hotel had been updated and was pretty clean. Our bathroom and shower were very small, and the shower didn't drain, just like when we stayed years ago, so clearly that hasn't been fixed. The pool hours are kind of ridiculous.

The housekeeping staff kept our room looking great, with plenty of towels and soap. The property was quiet, even with a sundeck for guests, and the renovation next door wasn't active. That gave the hotel a more secluded feel in the evenings. We were happy with our stay. We booked three nights for our first visit to Bristol Plaza. The July 4th holiday rates were great and seemed in line with similar Wildwood motels. The rooms had been updated, and we were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. We know from many Wildwood stays that older buildings are always being redone, which takes time and money. There were a few things to learn: ask for a room without a connecting door, since our neighbors' music and amorous noises carried at night. It's a tradeoff between soundproofing that door and offering the connection. Also ask the front desk about the new cooling system. It worked well, but its dual mini-split setup had one remote and took me a while to figure out.

The room was updated and spacious, and staff dealt quickly with an issue we reported about the heating and cooling unit. But I wouldn't stay again. We were assigned a second-floor room listed as a pool view and partial ocean view, with the abandoned building next door filling the view whenever the curtains were open. From the room, you could only see a distant corner of the ocean, and the pool was visible only if you stood outside and leaned over the railing. I called downstairs to ask about switching rooms. They said they were fully booked and other guests had paid more for better rooms. I offered to pay more to change, but was told there were no other rooms available.
