Sandy Shores Resort Motel

The place itself seemed decent, and the owners and employees were very nice, but we were grossed out by the cleanliness. Our room had a strong smell and hadn’t been properly cleaned. There was no fitted sheet on the cotton pillow-top mattress, and within minutes our bare feet were black. Sand was all over the room and balcony, with no broom or vacuum available. They seemed extremely short-staffed, which may be why the stay wasn’t what we’d hoped for.

For the price, Sandy Shores worked well for a last-minute two-night stay in N Wildwood during summer. Most other motels were barely within my budget. The location is very good, just a few blocks from the boardwalk and beaches, and the exterior is clean and well kept. Parking for one vehicle is included. I was there with my 12 year old granddaughter while she attended a nearby daily camp. The staff were pleasant, attentive, and easy to reach, and check-in and checkout were simple. The two queen beds looked new and had nice sheets and pillows, and we found them very comfortable. That was the best part of the room for me. The decor and bathroom need updating. The faucet kept leaking, and the old tub had rust stains. It was very clean, so those issues weren’t huge, but I wouldn’t choose this place for another stay.

We’ve been staying at Sandy shores at least twice a year for the past 9/10 years, and it’s a great place for families. The rooms are always cleaned well, with upgrades made every year. The prices are great, but the service is even better. The staff do everything they can to make you feel at home. I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting the owners, who are wonderful, and the longtime manager is courteous, cheerful, and always willing to go out of his way to help.

I slept in every morning, which I’m not used to, because the bed was so comfortable. The room was clean and had enough linens, all packed in a bag. I told the owner I’d call to make reservations for next year!
