We were grateful for such a wonderful place to stay. The house has a distinctive charm that made us feel like we were visiting a favorite relative. Every room has its own themed decor, and ours was a pretty pale yellow, just like our room at home. The bed in the James room was comfortable, and two people could manage easily in the bathroom. Kathryn, the owner, was so sweet and hospitable, and served a great breakfast each morning. We came December 4-8, with the Grande Illumination on Dec.7th. It was spectacular. My daughter and her husband came up from Wake Forest, NC, and touring Colonial Williamsburg together was a lovely birthday and Christmas gift for them. Colonial Williamsburg is within walking distance, with other points of interest reachable by car. “Thank you” doesn’t quite cover how grateful we were for the accommodation and hostess.

This was my second stay at Colonial Capital Bed and Breakfast, and both visits were fantastic. The location is ideal for William and Mary and Colonial Williamsburg. Katheryn is a lovely, welcoming host, and the comfortable, well-appointed rooms and breakfasts with lots of excellent options make this a place I’d put high on my list.

Kathryn was so thoughtful and communicative, and clearly paid attention to the small details so guests had what they needed. Her fresh, tasty breakfasts were wonderful. We ate enough that we didn’t need lunch on any of the days we were there, and she also shared lots of restaurant and activity recommendations. The house is gorgeous. We stayed in the York room, and the bed was super comfortable. Merchant Square is at most a 10-minute walk away, while Busch gardens and Water country USA are about a 10-minute drive. My wife and I travel often, but this was our first bed and breakfast. It’ll be hard to top, and we hope to return whenever we’re in the area.

Breakfast was the best meal of our day, and Kathryn had great suggestions for dinner and things to do because she knew the area so well. She was thoughtful and accommodating as our hostess. The house is lovely but still cozy and comfortable. We’d happily recommend it for a romantic or relaxing getaway.

The house felt magical, almost like we were visiting family, and the bathrooms were spotless. There were snacks and tea in the kitchen, and Katheryn was ready to help with anything we needed. Her breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had. The Colonial Capital Bed & Breakfast is right in the heart of Williamsburg, and our stay was beautiful, comfortable, luxurious, and still affordable. Katheryn was such a warm innkeeper, and we can’t wait to come back. I could go on for hours, but there’s not enough room here. We loved it, and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting.
