Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Williamsburg East (Busch Gardens), VA

We'd happily return on our next visit and recommend the hotel to friends. The location was convenient for the area and Busch Gardens, and our clean, updated room was well maintained. Having two queen beds instead of doubles was nice. Breakfast was good, with fresh, well-made hot food, though it could use fruit or pastries. The usual spread included scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, breads, bagels, and muffins. The waffle batter was often nearly gone, clearly a favorite. The juice machine struggled during our visit: the orange juice was too concentrated, and the apple juice ran out. Still, we appreciated having breakfast included.

The hot breakfast was delicious even with a limited selection, and the hotel was conveniently just down the street from Busch Gardens. We arrived hours before check-in on president’s weekend after six hours on the road, and the friendly staff got my son and me into a room right away. It was clean, though you can tell the building is aging; the new owners seem to be doing their best to spruce it up. I'd stay again. There is a Tesla charger guests can use, but I couldn't see an adapter for non-Tesla cars. I would've liked to charge my plug-in hybrid Jeep.

The room was very clean and smelled fresh, with no dog odor at all despite being pet-friendly. The bathroom was a little small but not bad, and breakfast choices were limited. For $70 a night plus a $35 pet fee, with breakfast included, I thought the price was hard to beat. The front desk staff were friendly too. I was unsure after reading older reviews, but a couple of recent ones convinced me to book, and I don't regret it. We had a great stay.

I spent 21 days at the Country Inn while searching for a permanent place. Every day I came back to a clean room with all the amenities supplied, and the staff were kind. The Williamsburg area is great, and the price is affordable. Breakfast kept me going, with hot eggs and sausage for protein each morning.
