Courtyard by Marriott Williamsburg Busch Gardens Area

Everyone I dealt with was very nice. I'd called to say I'd arrive late, and the receptionist remembered me when I came in. The room was large and nice, the bed comfortable, and the AC worked great. I like a cool room and kept it at 68 degrees. The blackout curtains blocked the sunrise, and breakfast was delicious. The "Eggs Your Way" portion was so big I could barely finish it. There was construction still going on, and the soundproofing was the main downside. I could hear someone snoring, and my room, #129, was beside a back door that made a lot of noise whenever it opened. With better soundproofing, I'd have given five stars. I'd stay again.

The room was comfortable, and the staff were friendly and efficient during my one-night stay for a nearby event. The indoor/outdoor pool was nice and popular with kids. Their hallway screaming woke me earlier than I wanted.

The front desk staff were doing their best, and I appreciate that. They were very friendly. The room assignment was a strange accessible room, with no sofa bed even though I booked a king and sofa bed. It was dim, and the lights seemed to have separate switches with no obvious main one. My room was between the lobby and outdoor courtyard, so there was lots of foot traffic. The walls were paper thin and soundproofing was nonexistent, and sports teams staying for the weekend made it even noisier. I'm usually very tolerant, but it was hard to sleep. The ice machine was broken, housekeeping didn't respond to a friendly reminder, and it's a strange choice not to offer a breakfast perk to status members. That's an easy, low-cost way to build goodwill. Three stars is probably generous.

Ms. Dixon, the general manager, handled a reservation and rate problem with one of our rooms really well. She listened and went above and beyond to find a solution and take care of us. Our group had stayed at the Courtyard Busch Gardens after visiting Christmas Town. It's conveniently close to Busch gardens, with free parking. The rooms are new, and the lobby's contemporary furnishings work well for gathering as a group. Thank you!
