Days Inn Williamsburg

The bed was comfortable and our room was clean, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was better than I expected, with pancakes, cheese omelets, fresh bagels, cereal, and fresh fruit. The hotel definitely needs some updates, but for the price it wasn’t bad.

The beds were comfortable and the sheets were clean, but the pet-friendly room smelled like wet dog when we came in. The door kept sticking, and the microwave and fridge weren’t very clean. In the morning, the shower walls looked really grimy, like they hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, and the light switch was dirty too. Paying attention to those small details makes a big difference to how comfortable a room feels.

We’re having a very nice stay. The staff are friendly, helpful, and speak well. The rooms are very clean, and the AC is strong. They allow pets, too. At first we were told there were no rooms, but when we explained we’d been displaced from our Williamsburg home by a house fire, someone at the desk immediately gave us one of the three rooms they keep vacant for emergencies. I highly recommend them.

The rooms were clean, the people working there were friendly, and the appliances and outlets all worked. I gave it four stars because the door didn’t latch by itself and needed a pretty firm push to close, which might bother other guests late at night or early in the morning. Also, the shower head was lower than I’d like, and I’m about 5'10". The owners or staff will probably fix that after I leave.
