Merrimac Inn & Suites

Our family of three had a clean, well-stocked place for two nights, and the owners and staff were friendly. We made good use of the well-maintained pool and swam both nights. The lights worked for swimming after dark, too. The AC was great, the TV worked well, and the clean mini fridge ran properly. We'd recommend staying here and plan to come back.

We came for the Scares That Care book con, and this motel was five minutes from the event and half the price of anywhere else. It's simple, but the room was what I expected for the price and worked fine for our one-night stay. It was really quiet, too. The staff were very nice and accommodating when I messed up my reservation.

The area was quiet, and I got an okay weekend rate. The room was full of problems. A refrigerator was right inside the entrance, and the door itself didn't open and close smoothly. An old chain lock had been ripped off. There was another fridge that wasn't plugged in and smelled like dead fish when opened. The microwave had rust on top and inside the door. There was a hole beside the crawl-space entry in the closet, and the electrical panel in there wasn't to code and shouldn't be behind closed doors. I nearly broke my toe on the step into the bathroom because there was no warning about it. The ceiling fan looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years, there was mold on the shower curtain, and the only bath towel smelled like urine. Good thing I'd brought my own. The ceiling had been damaged and repaired terribly, and the wall light had been patched with wire nuts, which is also a hazard. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Sorry, but not sorry.

We walked in and my wife said, “This is the kind of place you get murdered in.” I can see why. The carpet was sticky and disgusting, and there were gross stains all over the walls and railings. The fridge was stained, with old liquid spilled inside, and there was soap scum in the shower. I can't believe they charge this much. Those reviews must be fake. You've been warned.
