The breakfast had plenty to choose from, including eggs, waffles, fruit, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, snack bars, and pastries. For dinner, there’s an authentic Mexican restaurant just 30 yards from the room, and I’d go for any of the chimichangas, they come with lots of fresh guac. I’ve stayed here several times over the years and compared the cost with a nearby three-star hotel. I can’t see a reason to pay more. The room had just been updated this year, too. For a convenient trip to the Ark Encounter, which is literally within walking distance, this family-run place is a bargain and takes good care of guests.

For the price, it wasn’t bad. The room was clean for our two-night stay, though the first night the neighbors’ kids made a lot of noise and we could tell the walls are thin.

Jenny checked me in and was really nice. I’d reserved three rooms, and she managed to switch one to a King without charging extra. The hotel is older but kept clean, and there’s an awesome Mexican restaurant right next door.

The kids had a great time in the outdoor pool, and the Ark parking lot was about a 10-minute walk away, which was manageable. We’d driven seven hours from Canada to visit the Ark Encounter, so the reasonable price and value mattered to us. Our room felt a little damp, as some reviews had mentioned, but keeping the air conditioner running fixed it. The staff were kind and helpful, though when we asked for more towels for five people, they brought only three. Breakfast was basic, with cereal, coffee, waffles, packaged bread, fruit, yogurt, and packaged boiled eggs. Our family was satisfied with it. If value is your main concern, this is a good option. Anyone wanting something a bit nicer could look at the two other hotels nearby.

The walk to the ark was convenient. The hotel itself was okay. I wouldn’t pay extra for an ark view, since it’s just trees, and the Halloween decorations really aren’t needed.
