The Landing at Seven Coves

We caught a bass and crappy right from our balcony, then got a bass and three decent-sized catfish at the fishing dock. The staff were friendly, and booking and check-in were easy when we called directly. The room was clean, super cozy, and had almost everything we needed. It was in a quiet neighborhood, with gas stations and Dollar General nearby in case you forgot something. The kitchen had cookware, a tea kettle, coffee maker, blender, toaster, manual and electric can openers, and a fridge with an ice maker. Just turn the ice maker on when you arrive. Bring your own toothpaste, shampoo, and conditioner. The beds were comfortable, and the Jacuzzi tub was my favorite part. We’ll definitely be back.

We loved the location and the balcony right over the water, and I appreciated being allowed to smoke a cigar out there. The unit was clean, though it needs updating. Our week was cut short by a water main break, and management had no plan for an event like that. The place was also loud. All the single-room units are downstairs, so most of our trip we heard running feet and things dropping overhead, plus noise clearly came through from the neighboring units. The noise is the main reason I won’t return.

The view was quite nice, and the staff were pleasant in person. On the phone, though, they seemed short while I was trying to get the confirmation email. Booking and getting that email took several calls and was difficult. The room was musty and had spiderwebs, including a spider egg sac on the bedroom TV. The sheets were torn, and there was no iron, so we had to borrow one from another room. We couldn’t connect to the Wi-Fi in our room, which defeated its whole purpose. The shower was still wet when we arrived, for an unclear reason, and had hair in it. I took only two photos. There were also webs and spiders all over the outdoor area, though that’s somewhat expected by a lake. The room wasn’t clean in many ways, and cleanliness is the bare minimum I expect.

The patios extend right over the water at Lake Conroe, and it’s beautiful there in the morning. We’ve been eating some of our meals out on the patio. The accommodations are very nice.
