Super 8 Willmar

Nothing fancy, just a nice spot for an overnight stay. The rooms were clean and the people friendly.

We paid $150 for a room that was absolute garbage, even though the online price was a lie. The hallways smelled overwhelmingly like rot, as if someone had died. The bed was uncomfortable, and creaking from the upstairs bed every time someone moved kept us awake most of the night. I wouldn't have stayed if I'd had a choice. The cheaper motel we went to the next day, with far less business, was heavenly.

The staff are always really nice and helpful, and the rooms I've used had a fridge and microwave. It's an older hotel, so there's visible wear, though nothing egregious. On my last visit the blankets were paper thin, but the heater worked. Being right on a main road is handy. I travel for work and need a clean, hassle-free stay. If you want modern rooms or a pool, this isn't the place.

For a quick overnight, it was well worth it. The room had a damp, musty smell, but the beds were very comfortable. The hotel is dated, though the staff were welcoming and pleasant, and breakfast was a nice simple offering.
