Holiday Inn Express & Suites Willows by IHG

The breakfast was a real highlight, with just about every choice you could think of within reason. Everything was hot, fresh, and tasty. They make croissant cinnamon rolls fresh each day, according to the attendant. I've never had one before; cinnamon rolls are usually doughy, but these were buttery and flaky. A must try during your visit! We were there for a wedding and our room smelled like smoke. My husband told the service desk right away, and the young man was helpful and polite when he moved us to another room. It was updated and modern, with great water pressure and hot water.

There was a stain at the foot of the couch, so I took a star off for the room. This was my first time at a Holiday Inn Express, so I can't say how it compares with other locations, but I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. I looked up this location and would definitely stay again.

The staff said they couldn't change the booking or offer a refund because it was already check-in day, and claimed the hotel had been waiting for me. That made no sense since I'd only made the reservation minutes earlier. On December 5, I tried to book one night for Saturday, December 6, but accidentally picked December 5 instead. I booked around 5:00 PM and noticed the mistake right away, then called the hotel seconds later to ask for the date to be changed. They wouldn't switch the dates, refund me, or give me credit, so I lost $171.26 on a stay I never used. I understand there are policies, but the lack of flexibility or basic customer service was extremely disappointing. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The parking lot has a cover where birds nest, so there's a slight risk of getting bird poop on your car. Otherwise, parking was fine. Breakfast had lots of options and was good. We felt safe and comfortable, and would stay again if we were in the area. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful with our questions. Our room was clean and comfortable, with no complaints.
