Element by Marriott Wilmington

The accommodations and staff are lovely, but I’m really concerned about the lack of care for sustainability. The outdoor gas fire feature by the pool stays lit around the clock. When I raised it with staff, they told me maintenance knew it ran overnight. Leaving a high-output gas feature on 24/7 without oversight is disappointing and unacceptable when conserving resources matters so much. I hope management adopts more responsible energy practices.

Avoid this place. I reserved a room and arrived at midnight, only to be told they were overbooked and had nothing available. What’s the point of a reservation? Staff and management were very unprofessional and took no responsibility for the mistake. They sent me to another Marriott hotel without the proper paperwork for a replacement room, and the staff there treated me even worse. No one answered the phone, and the front desk refused to connect me with management. I never got an apology. An hour and a half later, they booked me into a room at Hilton. It was an absolute nightmare of a day.

We had a spotless room, and the amenities put a smile on my face. The front desk gentleman was extremely nice, and since we checked in online, our keys were ready when we arrived. Everyone we met was pleasant and made us feel welcome. Beth deserves a big shoutout for making the made-to-order breakfasts, and we really appreciated her work. I also had a fun conversation with the young woman at the coffee bar. We’ll be back in three weeks. We’ve found our go-to when we’re in town.

Getting booked was easy, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout our lovely stay this week. The location is easy to reach from the beach, shops, and restaurants, and there are lots of amenities for guests. We’ll definitely return.
