The staff were awesome, friendly, and professional, and management offered 10,000 reward points for the inconvenience. This Hilton property is stylish and much more updated than the former Ramada Inn that used to be here. I liked how the room was set up, and the bathroom's sliding barn door was different. My issue was that I was in an ADA room without a shower chair, so I couldn't shower. Their other Hilton brand Tru has shower chairs built into the ADA shower. I'd definitely return if we visit Wilmington, N.C. again. Great job!

The cleaning staff didn't actually clean my room. I asked for light housekeeping and an extra roll of toilet paper, and asked them not to replace my towels. All they did was change the towels, replace my half-used roll with a new one instead of leaving an extra, and take the trash and recycling. That felt wasteful. The GM and executive chef are rude and, in my experience, sexist. They dismiss problems by telling you to leave. The chef inserts himself into matters outside the kitchen and rudely tells workers it's “his area to control.” He seems to treat men with much more respect than women. I've spoken with a few other guests who said they'd had similarly disgusting treatment from the two and avoid them. When you ask to speak with someone about their attitudes, they won't give you that information and tell you to move on. Not everyone at the front desk is rude, but they don't seem to know the hotel rules either. Is this a rule-free hotel? I can't get clear answers about anything, and neither can they. As a travel agent, I won't send clients here. I'm having a terrible stay because the men in charge are rude and dismissive, and they don't help. The executive chef does this with his wait staff too, who seem to be mainly women. There are plenty of other hotels in the Wilmington area where I think you'd be treated better, or at least not completely dismissed.

The food was very good throughout my work trip, and the prime rib I ordered Sunday around 7 p.m. was amazing, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The Sunday and Monday bartender was friendly and attentive, as was the woman serving breakfast Monday and Tuesday morning. Service was great all around. From check-in through checkout, everything was awesome. The rooms are large and comfortable, and they even checked in with me halfway through my stay. I'll be back.

The hotel was very clean, and the staff gave me a warm welcome. I'd suggest adding microwaves to the rooms. Walking over to the Tru Hotel side is inconvenient, especially when the rooms have plenty of space for one. A few more healthy menu options would also be nice. I had a good stay.
