I rent from them a lot, but I keep forgetting to get my deposit back. It’s $50, and for some reason they insist it has to be cash, on top of a bill that’s over $100. The owner’s wife is rude and annoying about telling people what to do in the rooms they’ve paid for. I understand having rules, but I’m pretty sure people get a hotel to have their own company over. The place itself is actually friendly, so that’s not the issue. She just wants to control who people have with them.

I’ve stayed at every hotel in Wilmington because I come here often for my business, and this is the only one I plan to use now. I’ve read the bad reviews and disagree with almost all of them, though the faded sign outside is true. The managers are the best I’ve ever seen. You can’t go wrong here.

Our room was clean, with clean bedding and plenty of towels, though the rooms are dated. Some friends left because they had other problems. I didn’t get to use the pool, but it looked great.

This place felt dated, nasty, and sketchy. I wouldn’t stay here. Pay a little more for the Holiday Inn, Hampton, or the other one, and you can have a better trip with some peace of mind.

At $95 a night, I found the Royalton clean, with polite, professional staff. Breakfast was basic but dependable, and sensory safe. The bed was comfortable, and the room had a microwave and a large mini fridge at no extra charge. I saw the horror story reviews and wanted to share my experience. If you mainly need a place to sleep without frills, this one is high on my list.
