The location near the airport and plenty of restaurants was why I chose Motel 6 Windsor Locks, and I appreciated that they allow pets. But I was already in a tight spot financially, and the extra $50 deposit on top of the room cost meant using my last $50 for one night. They could have reached me if there had been a problem, since they had my contact information. The staff seemed focused only on collecting the deposit and showed no compassion. I won't stay here again. The hotel industry should think harder about how it treats people going through difficult times.

For our 7 a.m. flight, being just minutes from the airport and the low price made the drawbacks manageable. Check-in and checkout were easy, and when we felt uneasy about the first room because people who seemed to be residents were drinking outside, they moved us without a fuss. Still, this is a basic, no-frills place, and the airport noise woke us repeatedly. Listen to your instincts and make an informed choice before booking.

A warning for anyone hoping to get some sleep. My girlfriend and I drove up from Texas for work and stayed in room 142. People next door and upstairs kept us awake, and when I called the office, nobody did anything. I paid $135.00 to rest and didn't get to. The noise went on from 9:00 p.m. until after 06:00 am. If you're looking for a party, this may be the place, but I wouldn't come with family since there doesn't seem to be security. I should have asked for my money back and left. One star.

Donna did a fantastic job cleaning our room. It was quiet, everything felt up to date, and we felt safe. The cleanliness really pleased us.

Planes were taking off or landing every 2 to 3 minutes, all day and into the night until around 11:00. Things eased up then, so you could sleep, but started again about 9:00 a.m. It's across the street from Hartford international Airport, and the aircraft noise was a lot to deal with. If you need peace and a good night's rest, this isn't the spot.
