Holiday Inn Express Windsor-Sonoma

There’s guest laundry on the first floor, though $7.50 to wash and dry a load felt steep. The front desk didn’t have enough quarters to buy, so keep that in mind. Parking is available, but can be a little tricky with a larger vehicle. Our room gave us a restful night after a long drive, and the guest restroom had both a tub and shower. It’s a nice facility and our stay was comfortable and uneventful, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

The website photos and description gave us the wrong idea of this hotel. The carpet was filthy, and although it’s supposed to be nonsmoking, our balcony was covered in cigarette butts. The lot was full of empty beer cans and didn’t make me feel safe. We thought paying more would mean a nice place to sleep. Earlier in the week we stayed at a Holiday Inn for less, and it was clean and very nice. Come on, IHG, hold these places to your standards so your customers don’t have to worry about where they’re staying. I may go with Marriott from now on.

We keep coming back for medical appointments because the deposit is affordable and the breakfast buffet is excellent. This morning I had eggs and sausage, and the attendant is always pleasant. The staff are friendly, and the rooms are clean and updated. There are some cosmetic problems around the hotel, though: duct covers, the ceiling in the spa room, and paint stripped in our bathroom. It’s still a nice hotel.

Alejandra always greets me with a beautiful, friendly smile, and the young man on the afternoon shift was helpful too. The front desk staff are knowledgeable, and their service made my stay better. The town is nice, without strange people hanging around. Rooms are clean, and some have balconies. There’s a fitness room, sauna, pool, and jacuzzis. Breakfast is decent.
