We had 10 rooms reserved, and everything was ready on time. We even got to check in early. The restaurant was good, especially the homemade gumbo, which was really yummy. The hotel is a little old, but our room was very clean and the service was excellent. The water was brown, but we expected that with all the lakes around Louisiana, so it didn't bother us.

The power and water didn't work, so I spent only a few minutes in the room. It took almost an hour to check in even though the place didn't seem busy. They didn't give me a key, but walked me to the room and let me in. The woman said I'd have to come get her to open it again if I left. At the front desk I was assured I'd get a refund, but my credit card statement shows I was charged anyway. I don't know how this place stays in business. If you're in town, try the motel in Joyce, only a few miles away.

The pool was a pond of green slime with frogs in it, and the bugs outside were awful. Parking was very limited. Everything was dirty or broken, with paint peeling off the walls in every room and a sink that barely drained. The place looks like it was built in the 70s and never renovated. Roaches come here to die, and it's not worth $85 per night during the work week. I hope I don't catch a disease. They stole some corded phones from Best Western...? Wait, never mind! They have an ironing board! Best hotel ever! ... NOT.

The rugs need replacing. There is a restaurant, but I didn't eat there, and the pool was green and apparently unused. Some tenants, probably workers, were barbecuing. That was fine, but it brought flies to a hot spot too close to the rooms.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the people were nice. I arrived late and got an Ember burger at the restaurant, which was good. The hotel feels old and run down, though. The pool water was a nice shade of green, not something I'd swim in, and the room tap water ran brown. Housekeeping woke me and ran me out at 9am even though checkout is at 11am. I paid a little over 10$ for two sunny side up eggs, a pancake so big they couldn't flip and cook both sides, and a tough sausage patty. The side of the pancake against the plate was undercooked, while the top was soaked in what I hope was butter. I won't be back. Pity, they're nice people. I'm honestly not hard to please, and I stay in a few hotels and motels in a year. This wasn't the worst, but it was nowhere near the best.
