Quality Inn Winslow I-40

We had a reservation for the 22nd, but when we arrived, the front desk told us there was no hot water. How is the place even open? That’s unsanitary. The whole hotel should have been closed, and everyone with a booking should have gotten a refund. We asked for one and were refused. Without hot water, there’s no hot shower, pool, or breakfast, and you can’t wash your hands properly. It’s nasty. Avoid this place. A refund was the least they could have offered, especially in this situation. I had to give it one star to post this. I’d give it none if I could.

The beds are worn out, and you can feel the springs. There were no channels, and the central AC was so noisy it sounded like it might quit. I could hear the upstairs unit making the same noise. The place felt beat up and smelled like pee. Pets are allowed, and animals had chewed the furniture. There was no hot water when we got there. The front desk person was very polite and asked us to give maintenance an hour because they were fixing the heater. Looking at other comments, this seems to be an ongoing issue. I should've read them more carefully. The heavy winds and long drive meant I had to put up with it and skip some of my usual comforts and routines. I made do, but I definitely won't stay here again. They can't all be winners. 👎👎

We could hear and see the trains, which was neat. The place felt comfortable, private, and safe, and the front desk staff were friendly. It was a good value. I was glad for the rooftop and AC when it was 104°, and I like that the AC fan can stay on. I forgot my floss and asked the desk for some, since the bathroom greeting card suggested it. They had none, and there wasn't a band-aid in the first aid kit either. My toe was bleeding, but I know I should've packed those things myself. The side door into the rooms wouldn't lock, and there wasn't anywhere for my poodle to walk or go potty.

12-2-2025. You get what you pay for, it's a Motel 6ish kind of place, the chain I usually avoid. The pool and jacuzzi weren't working, so where's the partial refund? The air conditioners and heaters dry the air out way too much, and the TVs are placed in the dumbest spots.
