Mt Gardner Inn

The way Greg & Alison run the place shows in all the little details. Everything was clean, from the rooms and furnishings to the kitchen’s silverware, cookware, and crockery. The latter were all first rate, unlike some “condo” places that seem to fill the cupboards with garage-sale odds and ends. Alison also helped me sort out a bit of confusion I’d caused myself with one of the local vendors, which I really appreciated. Mt. Gardner Inn is a small, owner-operated place with the personal care you’d expect from its owners. In a mountain town, you’re not going to find a Ritz Carlton, but this Inn is a 5 Star winner in the 3 Star category. It’s friendly, comfortable, and thoughtfully furnished. My larger suite was spacious, the WiFi and TV worked great, and there was plenty of ice if you asked. The coffee service was complete and tasty. Check-in had been arranged ahead of time, so there were no delays. The room was meticulously cleaned, and the lights had been left on to welcome us. All the pillows, lamps, paintings, and knickknacks felt carefully chosen. Winthrop is every bit the cute Western town it advertises itself as. If you enjoy fabulous mountain scenery, nice people, and fair, friendly service, I think you’ll truly enjoy Winthrop and Mt. Gardner Inn. We’ll be back!

Deer wandered by while we relaxed or played cards in the lovely outdoor spaces. The owners were friendly, check-in and checkout were easy, and our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Winthrop is a cute town with good food. A perfect stay on the edge of the North Cascades.

The room was stocked with coffee, a mini fridge, towels, a microwave, soap for the shower, and plenty of charging ports and outlets. It was very clean and adorable, with the feel of the ADK back in NY. We had an amazing family girls trip to explore Washington, and Winthrop was such a cute town close to the National Park. A couple of small suggestions: I loved reading the old notes in the guest book for the partridge room, but would’ve liked a fresh notebook so I could leave my own note. Fully enclosed mattress protectors would also make it perfect, and a few extra pillows in different thicknesses would be nice. 10/10, I’ll stay here again if I make it back!

We stayed in a ground-floor double guest room for the weekend, and the beds were extremely comfortable. There was a mini split for heating and cooling, plus a mini fridge, shampoo and conditioner, toiletries, coffee, a white noise machine, and clothing hangers. The inn has several room and suite options, and self check-in and checkout were easy. There’s plenty of parking, and shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The common area has lots of things guests can use, including board games, ice, dinnerware, books, DVDs, blankets, toasters, and more. I’d definitely stay here again.
