Chula Vista Resort, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

We were passing through on Memorial Day with our little dog and stopped in without a reservation. The man at the front desk was wonderful and understanding, and even gave us a discount. The spontaneous stay turned out great. Our room had a balcony overlooking the river, and the water park was a blast. The resort is right beside the busy part of Wisconsin Dells, but less than a ten minute drive away, so we could stay on site and have everything we needed. We'd come back.

This time was a much better visit, and we'd come back, hopefully with another offer. Our last minute trip to Chula Vista the year before had some confusion over the room details. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't a great stay either. The kids still loved it, so we decided to try again after getting an offer. This time the rooms were clean and nice, and the resort wasn't too busy, which made things more enjoyable. The indoor waterpark worked perfectly for our kids, ages 2, 4, and 10. They loved the slides, lazy river, pool, and hot tub, and our oldest especially liked the water ride. Outside, the splash pad was a good size for younger kids, while our oldest still enjoyed a few of the bigger slides. We all had a great time in the wave pool too, and liked the river walk behind the hotel. The arcade was a good size, the restaurant was good, and we had a fun stay. Thanks, Chula Vista!

The setting is what made this resort feel special. The woods and river gave the property a peaceful, tucked away feel, and the cabin style design was cozy and had more character than a typical commercial resort. It may be showing its age a little, but the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Our room was comfortable and very clean, and the water slides were some of the most exciting we've tried at a resort. The food we had was very good, and the coffee shop was a nice option for morning or afternoon breaks. My one wish is that there were some upbeat music around the wave pool and outdoor waterpark to bring more energy to those areas. We had a memorable stay with fun attractions and great hospitality.

A pleasant stay in a quiet spot, with a direct view of the Wisconsin River from our room. Booking at the last minute was easy, and the indoor and outdoor resort areas never felt crowded. The room was a bit old, but had everything we needed, and there was a small gym. Wisconsin Dells is about 15 minutes away.
