Best Western Wittenberg Inn

I travel for work and spend a lot of time in hotels, but this was bad enough that I had to write about it. There was no one at the desk for a long time, even though it was only 4 pm, and when the man came, he got hostile over how I asked a question and threatened to kick me out. I hadn’t raised my voice or used bad language. With the roads being bad and this place closest to where I was headed, I stayed the one night I’d booked after he calmed down. The room had old food in the fridge and a filthy tub, so I spent about 20 minutes cleaning before I felt comfortable. No microwave, either, though at least the fridge was there for my food once I’d scrubbed it out. I won’t stay again. The only thing going for it was that it smelled like a Super 8 or one of the Roadway Inns.

The bed was so hard I woke up sore, and there was a bug in it. The ice bucket was dirty, and after the ice melted, strange white stuff showed up in the cups. The lights were dim and flickering, and the place felt eerie. The whirlpool was the one halfway decent thing, and even that’s me being generous. It was a less than okay stay. I’m not coming back, and I’m not taking this review down.

The internet worked well, the breakfast was good, and the staff were pleasant. There’s a hot tub with the pool, too. What else could you ask for?

Breakfast was above average for a continental spread. The hotel itself is older and not well kept, though, and the pool and hot tub were dirty with a strong smell of chemicals.
