Crowne Plaza Boston - Woburn by IHG

We were only there for one night, but the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Boston left a great impression and we’d happily stay again for another event or a different city itinerary. The price was very reasonable. The hotel was beautiful, well maintained, and extremely clean, and our room was organized and spotless. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and friendly throughout. Breakfast was excellent too, with a generous buffet and lots of choices.

I was staying here with my fiancé when housekeeping manager Veronica opened our room door starting at 8am, while my fiancé was unclothed. I was told the front desk had no do not disturb signs available. When I went down to discuss it, they accused me of being under the influence, which wasn’t true. We felt discriminated against because of our tattoos and piercings, and front desk manager Meghan was very rude and treated us like we’d done something wrong. They didn’t deny that housekeeping managers are allowed to walk in. Please be aware of this situation. A police report has been filed, and we plan to pursue the matter with a lawyer.

Our return visit ended with an unresolved charge, which has overshadowed what had otherwise been a very meaningful stay. Before checkout, I asked the same front desk associate, Meamie, for an extra hour. Checkout is 11:00. She checked the computer and confirmed it was fine. We left the lobby at 11:45, put the keys in the box, and went on our way. A week later, I found an extra charge on my credit card. When I called, I was asked who had approved the late checkout. I explained the in-person confirmation and have followed up twice without a response. I’d advise getting written confirmation for a late checkout here. After the care we received on my first stay, the lack of accountability and follow-through has left me disheartened. In August 2024, I spent 10 days here, from 8/31-9/10, during an incredibly traumatic time. My husband was at Massachusetts General Hospital after cardiac arrest and a stroke, waiting for a double lung transplant and transfer to U-Penn in Philadelphia. I was alone, away from home, and there for neither business nor leisure. Staff at the Crown Plaza and Scoreboards restaurant learned what was happening, asked about him every day, and showed real concern. They became my temporary family when I desperately needed it, and it meant a lot. A year later, my husband had the transplant and made a full recovery. I wanted him to see where I’d spent those difficult days, so we checked in again on 12/27/25. I’d called ahead to ask for the same room, but it was taken. Meamie, the front desk associate, remembered our earlier conversation. The room was clean and comfortable, dinner at Scoreboards was excellent, and our server remembered me and congratulated my husband, which deeply touched us. Breakfast the next morning was very good too.

The lobby was being remodeled during my stay, and the timing was just bad luck on my end, not anyone’s fault. I was also surprised that the room didn’t match the online photos, which showed a bigger space, and it had a fridge and coffee maker area but no microwave, though the listing said there would be one. The place was clean, the staff were super sweet, and I felt safe leaving my car there. Security was active and the hallways were usually quiet. Destiney checked me in and was truly amazing, so friendly and welcoming. It was my first time in MA, and I really appreciated that. I had no other problems and will stay here again.
