Fairfield Inn & Suites Potomac Mills Woodbridge

The staff were nice, and the rooms were clean, but they looked very dated. The lobby smelled like marijuana when we arrived. I’m not saying that’s what it was, it just smelled that way. The sink water was either burning hot or cold, and the bathtub faucet dripped all night and wouldn’t shut off. We were afraid a shower would be freezing or scalding. This looked like an old Days Inn with a new name. If I were Marriott, I’d be ashamed to call it a Fairfield Inn. I’ve been happy with Marriott Fairfield before, but after this I’m not sure I’ll stay at another Fairfield.

They claimed there was a safe on the website, but there wasn’t one in the room. The coffee maker was broken, and the towels were threadbare. At breakfast, they used chemical cleaners and vacuumed around people who were eating.

Just having hot water in the shower would have been enough to keep me from writing this. There was no hot water, only lukewarm at best, throughout the three days I stayed. In response to the reply, this wasn’t a new issue or limited to my room. A guest in another room on the third floor confirmed he had the same problem.

The room itself was nice and clean, but the property didn’t look appealing from outside and made me uneasy when I first parked. There seemed to be construction at the front, making the entrance hard to spot, and my GPS was confused too. The rooms could use newer technology.
