Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites St. Paul-Woodbury by IHG

It’s a very convenient location, but this was the roughest Holiday Inn location I’ve stayed at during two weeks on the road, when about 80% of my stays have been at Holiday Inns. The place looks run down as soon as you enter, with loose door trim, scratched doors, and a broken coffee machine. The sheets had crumpled-looking spots, as if someone had lain on them, though they seemed clean, so I’m hoping that was just from the dryer. The next morning, when I returned from breakfast, the battery in my door lock had died and needed replacing. The battery tabs looked corroded. This place just needs some love.

The staff were among the friendliest and most welcoming I’ve dealt with in a hotel in a long time. They’re proactive about cleaning and fixing issues, and I found the rooms very clean. The location is great, too. It’s a little dated, but they’re currently updating the rooms with new furniture and other changes. I’ve stayed in a lot of IHG locations around the world, and this one ranks high for how well they look after the place. If you want a clean hotel with friendly staff in the Woodbury area, I’d 100% recommend it.

Breakfast is always fresh, hot, and ready, and the service is as good as it gets. Beca, the Manager, and the staff are pleasant, competent, and easy to work with. Beca has done a wonderful job with an older hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious. Getting here along I-94 is convenient, though it can be a little noisy at times. I’ll stay here again.

The hot breakfast served daily was a big plus, and the location worked well for visiting family. The staff were incredibly warm and friendly, and made me feel seen and valued as a customer. It seemed like the hotel had regulars, which says something about repeat business. It’s well run, and I’d stay here again.
