For an overnight stay, the hotel is okay and does the job. My three-star rating comes from the breakfast area, which could have been cleaner. The counter behind the oatmeal machine looked like it hadn’t been wiped in a long time, and the tops of the oatmeal topping jars looked like they hadn’t been washed for quite a while either. The rest of the hotel seemed fine. The strong scents pumped into the air were irritating and overwhelming for me, since I’m very sensitive to fragrances. I know I’m not the only person with that sensitivity, and even those who aren’t sensitive would be fine without the scents. If a place is clean, that should be enough. Is it worth negatively affecting people with sensitivities? I suspect the scents are common to Tru hotels rather than specific to this location.

The view of the Racetrac from our bedroom window was remarkable, and my kids would love to stay here again. We had a phenomenal stay at a The Hilton Thornburg. The front desk employee who checked us in was incredibly helpful, as were the other desk staff. They treated us with love and respect. Breakfast was superb, and the lobby and hotel lounge were very clean.

I was stuck in traffic for two hours just half a mile from the hotel, trying to reach my room, and nearly arrived late to a wedding I’d driven 10 hours to attend. Management never told us there was a race at the track across the street or that traffic would be affected during the hours of ___. That was a terrible communication failure. The front desk guy working Saturday February 28 only said he didn’t know and made excuses. Someone failed to do their job. Very disappointing.

The hotel is conveniently near a gas station, quick food options, I-95, and a raceway, but the stay was disappointing. There was a strong musty perfume smell in both the room and the front desk area, and the floors were dirty. I found hair in the shower, and the bathroom wallpaper was peeling and had mold. I also saw the family running the hotel lounging in the lobby, including one person who was barefoot, which felt unprofessional. I wish the cleanliness and atmosphere had matched the convenient location.
