Pitlik's Sand Beach Resort

We first stopped in while snowmobiling just to check the place out, and the service was awesome. Riley was tending bar and was very polite. We came back the next evening for dinner, and the food was great. Our waitress was sweet, and another bartender made us ice cream drinks, though I didn't catch his name. A great experience all around.

The house was nicely decorated, with comfortable beds and furniture, and the kitchen had everything we needed for family meals. I even made chili in the crockpot, so dinner was ready after a day exploring Eagle River and Bond Falls. Fall colors across the lake were at their peak, and it was a very quiet, relaxing weekend. We spent a long weekend at this home down the road from the main resort. There are lots of steps from the driveway to the entrance, which wasn't mentioned online. With our bad knees, getting our things inside was a bit difficult.

The view is beautiful, and we've always enjoyed the food during our family's annual summer visits. But after our last trip, we won't return to this restaurant. We came for the fish fry on 7/11, and a woman with long dark hair was behind the bar in a skirt with nothing underneath. I know because she repeatedly stood in front of a fan and showed that she wasn't wearing anything under it. My husband and grandchildren were with me, and I wasn't the only person who saw it. I felt embarrassed for her. I understand it can be hot and tips matter, but that behavior was unacceptable to me. We won't be back.

The baked fish was the best I've had anywhere, even compared with places in southeast Wisconsin where I live. I went in for a fish fry and have been before. It's got a cool rustic feel, a nice lake view, and great service.
