The room at Mitchell Manor is attractive, and you can walk into town from the inn. But with eight windows, sunrise light pours in even when every blind is shut. The windows also let in a lot of sound: people talking outside and traffic on the main road at all hours. For what it costs, I was disappointed, and I wouldn’t suggest it to anyone who sleeps lightly.

We’ve stayed at the Herwood Inn twice, and Adam and Carmen have been wonderful hosts both times. It’s right in the middle of Woodstock, so we could walk to shops and plenty of places to eat. One cool evening, our family gathered on the outdoor patio around the fire chiminea. We’d highly recommend it.

We were really happy here. The hotel has a charming, quaint feel and is decorated beautifully. There was even a vinyl recorder in our room, and we spent some time listening to it. Check-in was easy, and everything looked brand new and was very clean. We’d love to come back for a longer stay.

We stayed in the Franklin suite with my wife and our four-year-old golden retriever. It’s a cute place within walking distance of everything in town, and it looked newly renovated. They use locally sourced products, which made us want to return.

Being able to walk into Woodstock was a plus, but I wouldn’t stay here again. The room was cramped, the bed was poor, and the towels were discolored. The door lock looked as if it had been broken into and then repaired badly. The shades also didn’t keep enough light out for sleeping.
