There’s a Walmart just down the street, handy if you’ve forgotten to pack something, and plenty of places to eat nearby. I’m here for hiking in Big Thicket, and all the trees around the property really set the mood for that. This was my first stay and I’m enjoying it. The room is spacious, with a nice bathroom and a mini fridge that has a little freezer compartment big enough for a box or two of items. The front desk staff were polite and friendly.

I’ll look for somewhere else next time. The room itself was nice, but ordinary noise from neighboring guests came through very clearly, even though they were considerate. The outside walls are just siding, with no brick, so you hear a lot. Bring earplugs or a noise machine, and expect to be up early. Since this is the only place in town, it’s a bit expensive.

After a long day driving, this was just what we needed. The beds were comfortable, the linens were nice, and there was plenty of hot water with great pressure. It was quiet, clean, and really relaxing. The woman at the front desk was very friendly, too. I’m so glad we stopped here.

They’ve updated the rooms recently, and it feels like staying in a new hotel. The staff are friendly, and the place has a quiet, down-home feel. There are gazebos for barbecuing. I’d recommend it.
