Days Inn by Wyndham Woodward OK

The heater worked and I got a hot shower, and the price was cheap. Still, I felt dirty just being there. Roaches kept turning up, and there was even one in the shower with me. The bedding wasn't clean, the floor hadn't been swept, and I had to keep my shoes on. The furniture was filthy and old. I rarely write reviews, but I hope nobody else has this experience. Calling it a two star stay was generous. It's the worst hotel I've ever experienced.

I've stayed with this hotel chain before and never had a complaint, even though I know it's cheap and may have some issues. This time was different. I'd asked for a non-smoking room, but the one I got smelled like cigarettes and was very dirty. There were lots of flies, and worst of all, it was full of fleas. Hygiene gets zero from me. The woman on duty made the service very poor, worth two stars at most. Check everything for cleanliness and order before going in.

The room worked out really well for what I needed. The bed was a comfortable king, and the room had two comfortable chairs, one with a matching ottoman, plus a small desk area with a desk chair. There was a large vanity with a nice sink and faucet, and a bathtub bigger than any hotel tub I've seen. The bathroom and toilet were clean. I had a good-sized TV with good cable, a very clean medium dorm-size refrigerator, and a nice clean microwave. There was an iron but no ironing board, which I didn't need. The location was great for my evening stop, and guest service by phone and at the registration desk was great. I got a first-floor room.

The location and front desk service were fine, but the room was a letdown. It smelled musty, the bathroom door stuck and wouldn't shut all the way, and the bedspread, some pillows, and sheets were stained. I wouldn't stay here again. Next time I'd sleep in my truck.
