The room was okay and the grounds were nice, but we couldn't flush the toilet and the shower wouldn't drain. We tried every possible way to reach staff and looked for tools to fix things ourselves. It seemed nobody worked at the property or answered calls and texts until after 11 a.m. We had to check out early to find somewhere else to use the facilities. Someone replied to our texts once that day, saying they were tracking down management for a solution, and then nothing. Let our family take one for all of humanity: avoid these cabins!

The units at Grand Pines cabins were decorated fairly nicely, but they're small. What made our stay awful was whatever kind of illegal activity was happening in the next room. The fire department, EMTs, and, I believe, the police showed up several times during the night. With only four units and no office or management on site to handle a situation like that, the stay felt very uneasy. By the time we left early in the morning, it seemed the other guests had gone, leaving only the tenant who'd had the problems. There's no on-site supervision, and you let yourself into the room, which seems to make the place a prime target for this kind of activity. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The location is beautiful, and the cabin itself was fine, but I found a couple of stains on the floor and the toilet surface was quite dirty, with hair and stains. I arrived on the first day of a community parade, which eventually quieted down. The next day, though, people in the neighborhood made a lot of noise while I was trying to nap, especially someone blasting loud music, so keep that in mind if you plan to rest here. I'm also confused about why I didn't get my deposit back. I left the room as I found it. The only possible explanation I can think of is that the fire alarm batteries were replaced, though the alarm seemed to detect shower steam as smoke. Once I aired out the steam, it went quiet. I'm not sure why that would cost me $100. I used one small towel, too, but that shouldn't cost $100 either. It's a nice little place if you plan to stay, just plan accordingly.

A clean, well equipped room in a lovely setting. This quiet little town in the woods was peaceful and relaxing. You can't go wrong here!

The town is amazing, and the place itself was so cute and charming. But Grand Pine has no overnight emergency support. When we were there, staff left at 8 p.m. and came back at 10 a.m. Our fire alarm had a dying battery and kept chirping during the night. We had to put up with it or have no fire alarm, which violates California fire code. They wouldn't offer a discount or refund, even for the $35 they charged us to check in 30 minutes early or the $3 for water. I wouldn't stay again because I want to know someone can help if something happens overnight. I know our problem was unusual, but the way they handled it was awful. It's easy to provide good service when everything goes right. When something goes wrong, that's when you see what a company is like, and they showed me.
