Days Inn by Wyndham Wurtsboro

I needed somewhere to sleep for a few hours before getting back on the road, so early Thursday morning, March 19, 2026, I stopped at a gas station and called Delta SkyMiles customer service and the Days Inn By Wyndham Wurstboro. I asked whether my room was available and if there'd be an early check-in fee. I said I’d only be there from 2:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. The manager said the fee would be waived and the room was available. I booked around 1:39 a.m. and checked in at 2:30. My Delta SkyMiles itinerary said the $100 deposit hold would be returned. At the hotel, the manager charged me $110. When I asked about the extra $10, he called it a fee but didn't say what it was for. I figured it might be tax. He said the $100 would come back a few days after checkout. When I checked out and dropped off the key, I asked for copies of the two sheets I'd signed. He was reluctant to give them to me. After I kept asking, he gave me one, then eventually the other after a dispute. As he handed over the last copy, he said I’d now get only $90 back, because there was a $20 fee. That didn't add up. I was supposed to get the deposit back in full, and if the fee was $20, he could have charged $120 at check-in. It felt like he was punishing me for insisting on the receipt. The registration receipt I got showed no fees. I called corporate when I got home; they said the hotel was a private franchise and I had to work out the refund with the manager. Their customer service agent did speak with him, and he said the early check-in fee had been waived, so I should be grateful, and that the $20 was for an upgrade because my room wasn't available. Nobody told me about an upgrade, and he'd said I would get the $100 back. I believe he was lying. To me, this was fraud. I called another Wyndham customer service number and got the same answer, that they couldn't intervene and I had to deal with the manager. Then I contacted Delta SkyMiles, since I booked through them and my SkyMiles covered the entire stay. I paid $0 for the room, and I'm disabled and live on a fixed income, so I don't spend money casually. Delta contacted the manager. After that, he told their representative I would get just $40 back, now saying he was charging a $50 early check-in fee as well as the $20 upgrade fee. Both were lies, in my view. If those charges had applied, I would have been charged $170 at check-in, not $110. The $100 was always meant to be a hold returned in full. I filed a fraud dispute with #AmericanExpress, and they got all $110 back to me. Avoid this place. I believe the manager was running a fraud scheme, and that all the employees were complicit. Be very careful.

We had a great view to wake up to each morning, and the continental breakfast had lots of choices. The location worked well, close enough to everything, so we absolutely loved the hotel. There was a problem with people across the hall being loud and rude, and they set off the smoke alarm. The manager handled it right away and told them to pack up and leave. I liked that he made us feel important. We’ll be back!

There are great restaurants in town, and a grocery store just across the road. Our room had a fridge, freezer, microwave, coffee machine, and a decent workspace. The accommodations were clean and excellent for a fair price. Reception and the front desk were helpful, and the cleaning staff were always ready to lend a hand.

My son and I stayed here the night of the Weird Al concert at Bethel Woods. Even though we arrived after midnight, check-in was no problem. The beds and bathroom were clean, and the room's a/c was cold. They'd cleaned the filters too, which is rare in hotel rooms. I'd definitely stay again for future shows.
